Motif Design: what it is and how to get access

Motif Design is a separate product from Motif Review, and it isn't part of your Motif Review subscription. It's available through our team rather than as a self-serve signup. To see it or get access for your firm, book a demo.

Motif has two products:

  • Motif Review — the product you're using now. A browser-based workspace for reviewing, marking up, measuring, presenting, and visualizing sheets and 3D models. Everything documented in this help center is Motif Review.

  • Motif Design — a browser-based BIM platform where architects and AI agents model, evaluate, and document a building together. This is where you author the building: parametric modeling, drawing sets, and AI agents that work inside the live model.

A short way to tell them apart: if you're changing the building, that's Design. If you're reviewing the building, that's Review.

Motif Review was previously called just "Motif." If you've been a customer, the product you know is now Motif Review. Nothing about your projects, boards, plugins, or billing changed — only the name.

Motif Design isn't included in your Motif Review subscription

Motif Design is licensed separately. Having a Motif Review account — on any plan — does not give you access to Motif Design, and there is currently no self-serve trial, free tier, or in-app upgrade path for it.

Access goes through our team so we can get you set up properly, including your organization, project structure, and any existing models you want brought in.
